MAY 2004

I won’t be able to watch any parades but it will definitely be a time for reflection as 31 May marks the American Memorial Day observances.  I plan to be at the American Legion Post 123 on MacArthur Hi-way to enjoy some good food and comradeship.  The Clark cemetery will be spruced up for the yearly early morning ceremony at that site.  It is definitely a day to remember all soldiers, world wide, who have given their lives in the service of their countries.  The end of the month also brings us a bit closer to the rainy season and those frequent tropical storms.  That means more frequent brown outs (no electricity) as soon as there is a bit of thunder and lightning and thank goodness for generators.  The big event in May will be the Philippine elections and everyone will be anxious to see who will win the battle of the initials, FPJ or GMA.  As I write this column it is too close to call so the result should be interesting.  For sure, if one particular person wins Estrada and the Marcos family will be dancing in the streets and future investors, beware!   Closer to home though, will be the contest for Angeles City Mayor as the outcome could affect business in the bar area.  No one knows whether it will be business as usual or will there be curtailments on the entertainment we have come to know and love on Fields Ave.  May should be a very interesting month so either come on over and enjoy the suspense or stay glued to the international news.  By the time I write my June column it will be old news as it will have been covered on the message boards and on JC’s newsletter.   See you in May?  (harrythehorse@harrythehorse.com

TIDBITS:

This “Retirement Plan” was sent to me by Mike Clark who is proud to share this sound financial advice free of charge to all interested parties.

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago,  it would now be worth $49.00.
With Enron, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.
With WorldCom, you would have less than $5.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of Beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling price, you would have $214.00.

Based on the above, current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

It's called the 401-Keg Plan.

Received the following message from a friend that, obviously, had a very good time visiting Laos and would like to share the information with fellow world wide travelers:

Greetings from Laos. Have been keeping up to date with Harry the Horse and I hope it continues. When you see Harry next, mention that Laos has now opened up as the new Cambodia. The police no longer harass tourists for going with local girls. Plenty available at Vientiane discos and Western bars like the Samlo Pub.  Going rate is $5-10 short time and $10-20 the night (Cambodian prices). No

bar fine and, unlike Vietnam, no bribe to the night manager to bring the girl in.  In the interests of keeping tourists better informed I thought the Horse might want to pass this on to  his readers, as the changes have only happened this year.  (ken)

Many of you have had problems with checks and credit cards so this information that was passed on to me from a friend in California might be of interest:

An Attorney's Advice ...and it's FREE!

Read this and make a copy for your files in case you need to refer to it someday.   Maybe we should all take some of his advice!   A corporate attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company:

The next time you order checks, omit your first name  and have only your initials and last name put on  them. If someone takes your check book they will not know if you sign your checks with just your initials or your first name but your bank will know how you  sign your checks.

When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers.
The credit card company knows the rest of the number and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing channels won't
have access to it.

Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone.
If you have a P.O. Box, use that, or your office address, instead of your home address.

Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine, do both sides of each license, credit card,   etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel.   Keep the photocopy in a safe place. I also carry a photocopy  of my passport when I travel either here or abroad.

We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards, etc. Unfortunately I, an attorney, have first hand knowledge because my wallet was stolen last month.  Within a week, the thieve(s) ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway  computer, received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record information online, and more.

But here's some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know.   We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. But the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them easily.  File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where it was stolen, this proves to credit providers you were diligent, and is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one).

But here's what is perhaps most important: (I never  even thought to do this).   Call the three national credit reporting  organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on  your name and Social Security number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the Internet in my name.

The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit. By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done.  There are records of all the credit checks initiated by the thieves' purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away this weekend (someone turned it in). It seems to have stopped them in their tracks.

Belated birthday greetings to John (Bulldog) Robinson who, to his surprise, reached the great symbolic age of “69” on 17 Apr.  John, I am sorry to have missed your celebration at the Duke of York but was away that weekend attending a Rotary District Conference at Subic.

The one annual party I always wanted to be invited to was the bash hosted by the grand Dutchman Gerard in Manila.  For the first time I received a text from Gerard inviting me to this exciting event last month and I had to send my regrets.  This party, if you attend is an all night affair and even Hugh Hefner would appreciate this production.  One and all who attended had a great time and most required 24 hours to recuperate.  Maybe next year?

Kokomo’s has expanded their very popular street side seating area. According to Mo, they are going to expand it and the bar even more. He is also going to do a major revamp of the indoor area.

Want something to do on a Sunday afternoon? Join Mo and/or Scott for their 4K Perimeter Rd. bar hop. They meet at Kokomo’s at 3ish, have a few cocktails at Lollipop’s terrace bar, jump into a jeepney, hit 5 or 6 Don Juico and Perimeter Rd. bars and end up back at Voodoo around 7 for food and more drinks. Everyone kicks in P1,400 and the tour includes drinks and ladies drinks at all the bars, the transportation and the food. You have to reserve because they limit it to 9 guys and the first 2 outings have been full. From what we hear, the girls in the bars treat the 4K mob very, very well.

Voodoo is open with dancers at 11 AM. It’s becoming a popular lunch time venue with the locals. Rumors are that they will be adding several more dancers and will remain open till 5 AM.

Hidden Vale Sports Club continues to be a subject of conversation in town.  It seems that employees at the Club are becoming more vocal about not being paid their salaries and that many remain working only because they can get their meals there.  Some have indicated that they must take their electric bills or other payments due vouchers to work in order to get a portion of monies owed to them.  The news floating around is that John Nichols and John Martin have both won their court cases that were directed against them by Mr. McDougal but since Greg is out of town this has not been confirmed.  A valued employee, sports director Damien is no longer with Hidden Vale.  It seems that his contract ran out and HV wanted to reduce his pay by half.  Remember that Damien was recruited away from Nomads in Manila by Greg and promised many perks that have not been forthcoming.  Hidden Vale employees have gone to the Labor Board with various complaints that are presently being investigated.  Members are wondering why the SEC approval for Hidden Vale has not been posted on the Club bulletin board for perusal.  Is Hidden Vale a house of cards about to crumble?  There are many questions being asked, but so far, no answers are forthcoming.  It would help if the key management figures would spend a bit more time in country but maybe the excessive “heat” during this dry season is too much for them.

A friend of mine forwarded this information to me on 27 Apr and yes, I did predict the closing of Club Amore, it just took a bit longer than anticipated  (this was a Korean owned club):

Info on club amore. It closed either last Thursday or Friday.  I'd heard about that but didn't know the reason.  Had a girl from Amore over here yesterday. She told me the club closed because it's bankrupt, no money. What she said was the club hasn't paid the girls' their salaries for the last two weeks.  I don't know the circumstances but at least one of the momma sans took her girls and moved to Vegas.

the girl from Amore told me last night they're really pissed at the owner. He came in Vegas last Saturday night bar hopping. He says though he can't pay the girls.

I've been in Amore three times the last two weeks and every time it was dead, (0-2 customers not counting me) and most of the good looking chicks were absent. Whether they were permanently gone or not I don't know.

I remember you mentioning a rumor you heard several months ago about Amore soon closing.  A friend who frequented Golden Gate told me today that the owner then stiffed the chicks for several weeks of salary when it closed.

The U.S. Embassy has put out some memos from various Philippine Governmental agencies that indicate that the processing of the new ACR I-Card project will continue as scheduled but the payment of fees is deferred.  For more specific information on this subject that affects all expats with permanent residence status I suggest you contact Jim Boyd at the RAO.

Did somebody at American Legion Post 123 wake up one morning, have a bad day and then took it out on their dedicated, volunteer webmaster? Who knows but regretfully, according to the following comments the webmaster has jumped ship:

"Effective May 5 the post web site (geocities.com/philampost123) and the post email account will no longer be maintained by me. (Milton "Barney" Day) As far as I know no one has been appointed to take my place and no one has asked for instructions/information about maintaining and using
them. (Maybe they don't care) I will be transferring my membership to another American Legion Post. I regret taking this action, but due to major differences with the present leadership, I believe this is best for all concerned. I hope that the post continues with the web site and email program which have been an overall success. Milton "Barney" Day

PIH LADIES

Annabel and Arlene

If you happen to enter the Philippine International Hospital (PIH) by the main entrance do take the time to stop and chat with the two ladies manning the Information Desk.  It was such a pleasure to meet and chat with Annabel and Arlene as they both had great smiles as they answered questions put to them.  I was particularly impressed with Arlene who, amazingly, at 33 years of age is still single and very available.  This charming lass has a BS degree in biology and is being wasted behind an information counter.  Gentlemen, if you are single, even if you have to fake an illness, this is one lady you want to meet.  Pretend you are visiting someone and need some directions, whatever, get over to PIH and meet Arlene.  This educated, personable lady should not be single.  If someone does get lucky and is able to court Arlene and wedding bells take place, remember to invite the Horse to the reception, I love a free feed!

THE STREET

For those of you that have been here and traveled “the street” of deep tonsils but are sitting in places like Alaska, China, the States, Australia, England, Canada, etc. and missing the thrills of the street, I just hope this picture will bring back pleasant memories and make you feel better knowing that the various bars located here await your return.  Need I say more?

NEVER TOO LATE

Pat

A few months ago I met Pat McCarter who was assisting the owners of Bambino’s Italian Restaurant in the creation of their menu.  Pat has lived in the Philippines for 8 years and has 30 years experience in the Food & Beverage business.  In his younger years he attended culinary schools in New York and also went to “Peter Kumps” in New York.  He spent time heading up the “Incredible Edible” in Florida and so many other experiences too numerous to mention here.  Now, I don’t know a damn thing about food and culinary schools but it all sounded impressive to me and I liked Pat’s personality.  Does this mean he is a great chef, hell, I don’t know but the food at Bambino’s is good and Pat, though retired is available for consulting jobs.  Someone with all that experience must be a better cook than I am and if I was thinking of opening a restaurant and needed some good advice I would call on Pat, maybe someone in town might do the same.  If so, let me know so I can find out how good he is.  By the way, he is smart enough to keep his wife working and making a bit of change by running “Sally’s Beauty Salon where you can get a nice foot massage/foot scrub at a reasonable price.  Many expats stop by for a hair cut, manicure, pedicure, etc. in this small little hide-a-way salon located near the Insomnia bar.  It isn’t on the main street but a few meters down the passageway next to the Tourist Bar.  If you happen to stop in give my regards to Sally, who knows, you might see Pat there as well.

MAKING THE MOVE

A happy Kiwi

Some folks are a pleasure to meet and Ron Barber, 75 years old falls into that category.  He hails from Wanganui, New Zealand and is on his second trip to the Philippines, staying at the Orchid Inn.  Being unattached and see what pleasures are offered in Angeles City Ron is planning to pull up stakes and move to this area permanently.  He has a preference for the ladies in the 25 to 35 year old range and like most of us old senior citizens he has realized that back home those ladies just do not want to know us.  Ron agrees with me when I say that anyone who has reached 60 and above and find themselves alone should jump on a plane and get over here to the Philippines.  Most of the older lads have a good retirement income and can live comfortably here with plenty of companionship.  Ron is a gentlemen and a hell of a nice guy who I hope will keep in touch with this old Horse, especially when he makes that final move from Kiwi land to Angeles City.  For a long time I thought all Kiwis looked like Dave White at the Hangout but I am pleased to now, know better.  Remember folks, all Kiwis must still remember to report to Kiwi Headquarters located at the Hang Out on Perimeter road if only to see what could happen to you if you live here too long.

FACES TO REMEMBER

I am not sure how well these pictures will show up as I had to photograph them from pictures given to me by the local police.  These are three known notorious hustlers, the ones that prey on tourists and other innocent people by getting them into tricycles or jeepneys and then taking them to isolated locations to get them in the card scam or just plain rob them.  If I had a scanner I could have done a better job at passing these on.  Last month one of these lads hustled a tourist staying at the Swagman but fortunately he told management about the incident.  Remy was able to get in touch with Capt Tan and in a very short time the culprit was apprehended and the tourist went to the police station to identify him.  All money, about P8,000 was returned to the victim thanks to the quick work of Capt Tan.  Naturally, the tourist did not press charges and Tan could only tell the thief to stay out of his area of responsibility (more than strong words were used to get the message across).  For sure, this warning will not be heeded and I am sure this ass wipe is currently looking for new victims, along with his cohorts.  Folks, DO NOT fall for the scam of some Filipino stopping you on the street and pretending to know you or volunteer to give you a ride back to your hotel.  BE ALERT, do not be trustful of strangers, believe me, this is a simple scam that works all too well.

Faces to remember

NARRA HOTEL’S T.L.C. PROTOCOL!

Recently on March 26th, a middle aged American, (Randolph Grim, 54) a hotel guest lay unconscious on the floor of  his rented hotel room, he had collapsed and shattered a chair next to his bed as he crashed heavily to the floor. When he was discovered, his eyes were rolling and he was effectively in a deep coma.

Without any backward step, the management of the Swagman Hotel instigated his transportation to the A.U.F. Hospital and under the direction of the owner Mr Bill Symons and the General Manager Remy de Jesus, they conveyed him there as fast as they could. The Swagman had already decided to financially put up the money to take care of him and make sure that he had the best medical attention in Angeles City.  At the hospital he was put into I.C.U. and the doctors and staff began tests to determine what was wrong with him. The next day Bill and Remy looked for some sort of information to help them find any relatives of the guest or indeed anyone, who possibly could help him in his hour of need. After going through his personal effects they found a black book with some contact numbers and his mother and father in Pennsylvania were finally contacted. A tearful mum gave Remy the number of his place of employment and his boss agreed to take care of his hospital expenses.

The hospital in their analysis deems that he has a case of meningitis, but they are not sure as to what has brought on this obvious neurological problem. He is now hospitalized in Manila receiving the care that he deserves.

All I can say is that if it were not for the T.L.C. given by the Swagman Narra Hotel this man surely would have died. It is nice to know that you still have establishments these days in The P.I. who are willing to take this kind of responsibility and help people in dire straights, when they are in genuine peril and so far away from home!

(Thanks go to Scotchman Ron for submitting this story and volunteering to keep us posted on Randolph’s progress)

THE “C” ITALIAN RESTAURANT

 Formal dress not required

I have never written about a restaurant two months in a row before but, forgive me, I just have to break my rule and feature this fine dining establishment again.  Chef Chris contacted me and asked that I stop in and check out the newly renovated outdoor dining area aptly named the “Piazza” and folks, it is fantastic.  For many years I have hoped that this garden area would be developed into a place where one could enjoy a meal under the stars in a setting that is both tranquil and romantic.  Chris has more than come through for me as not only is the atmosphere such that one immediately forgets the cold streets of Perimeter Road and Fields Ave but your sense of smell is activated with the aromas of good food being prepared and then your sense of taste is overwhelmed with the magnificent dishes delivered to your table.  The food is EXCELLENT.  Yes, the prices are reflective of a class high end restaurant but when I mentioned this to an individual that dines frequently in Manila as well as here his response was:

“For comparison, I took my wife out to a new Italian place in Manila. It had rave reviews. The meal was about 1/2 as good as C and it cost the same as dinner for the 4 of us at C.”

The big screen

OK, lets get away from prices and quality of food as I think I have convinced you that the quality is excellent, now let me tell you about the pleasure of the outdoor dining.  The garden setting is beautiful but I would suggest little table lamps so one could see the menu without getting up to find a lighted area but imagine being able to attend a movie theatre and enjoy a romantic meal at the same time.  Well, I might be getting carried away here but the “C” has installed a 135” TV screen, 16 speakers with Dolby Stereo and a DVD beamer.  I was able to eat and have a fantastic view of the Formula One race last Apr 25th..  On certain nights Italian

They loved the Osso Bucco

themed movies will be shown and various CD’s featuring different concerts, etc.  It was fantastic!  You really have to make a point of visiting this restaurant.  If you don’t like the heat of outdoors, no problem, they have a nicely air-conditioned room as well.  What did I eat during my visit?  Well, I left the choices up to Chef Chris and he started me off with spaghetti amatriciana (white wine flavored tomato sauce w/bacon & mushrooms) as an appetizer and it was fantastic.  The various flavors within that dish were a blend of perfection and he added a bit of spice at my request.  The main meal consisted of Osso Bucco (Veal shank, braised in white wine, served w/saffron risotto).  Folks, I myself, did not like this offering.  Being a no class New Yorker, I had no idea what the hell I was eating.  I thought it was a soup bone and that it had a hell of a lot of fat instead of meat on it.  To my surprise, many of the customers around me were eating the same meal and were raving about how good it was.  I did not realize that what I thought was fat was really the veal and yes, I must admit, that what I did eat was very tasty.  Poor Chris, he was still nice to me when I told him how I felt and I acknowledged that I just was not a veal shank man, even after I found out what it was.  He did not cuss me out, or tell me never to return; instead he acknowledged my ignorance with a smile and indicated that the next time he will recommend a chicken entrée.  With all the other diners looking at me, aghast at my poor taste, I grabbed my camera, bowed my head and headed for the door.  I did manage to thank Chris for providing me a bit of education in fine dining and vowed to do better the next time.  My son and his wife will be visiting me for nine days in May and I can think of no better place to take them than the “C” but for sure, I will see the Chef ahead of time so he can explain to me what he thinks this dumb New Yorker should eat.  (All top quality meet at the “C” is provided by Dee Bee Market on Friendship).

CHERRY GIRLS

Hi guys!

The name of the new bar is “Cherry’s Club” so the ladies pictured here must be “Cherry Girls” except for owner Jerry (he would not open his mouth to smile) and his lovely wife who are proudly in charge of this new addition to Perimeter Road.  I was a bit skeptical when construction started as to whether this would be a good idea but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and saw how nice it turned out.  It is a well laid out bar and they managed to take advantage of every inch of space to make it roomy, attractive, and nicely air-conditioned with a great staff.  It is located right next to Stampede and I had to laugh as I walked out of Cherry’s and the door girls at Stampede aggressively tried to pull me into that bar; I loved the attention but had to get home.  Actually, this is a good one-two punch bar hop up from Fields Ave.  Both establishments have a lot to offer.  The “Cherry Girls” look good especially the one with the nice chest pictured above.  When I took the picture I did not realize how good she looked and only when I was inserting the pictures in this column did I take notice.  Now I have to force myself to go back and investigate further.  Darn, this job gets harder and harder, oh well, just remember, I don’t do this for myself, it is only for the readers of this column that I drag myself from the TV and Priscilla.

FRIENDSHIP BRIDGE

Progress is being made on the construction of the Friendship bridge.  I was told that a new contractor was hired and now they are going all out.  As you can see by the picture, there is still a long way to go but at least, now, you see people working on it.  I will try to get an estimated completion date but doubt that it will be this year.

Slowly but Surely

BLUE ROCK RESORT

Better rooms 2nd floor

For a long time I have been wanting to check out the Blue Rock Resort in Barrio Baretto, Olongapo and see what Tommo is building up.  Last month I had to attend a Rotary District Conference at Subic and elected to stay at the Blue Rock.  I was able to book a room for one night and was lucky to get that as they were full up.  I was told that the room was inside the complex with no beach view.  I figured, what the hell, it is only for one night.  Well, when I checked in and then saw the room, I was glad that I was by myself for it was a pretty small room with not much of a bed but what the hell, it is a beach resort, right, and one should not expect a great room.  The cost for this oversized closet was P1,300 a night.  I saw Tommo at the bar and he mentioned that I should try and see the new rooms on the second floor and get a picture or two.  Regretfully, I never found the time to do that.  You see, Priscilla the Horse decided to join me the next day, along with our five year old son, Jason.  When I found this out, I was desperate to get a bigger room but there were none available.  A fellow Rotarian that did not make the Conference on time called me and when I found out that he had booked a beach view room at the Blue Rock for TWO nights I was filled with hope.  I told him to call the Blue Rock and get that room for me.  Well, when I got to the room that night I found that this room was even smaller than the other one and it did not even have a closet, just hooks on the wall.  There was a table lamp that I figured I could use for reading but the outlet was up on the wall over the bed and the cord would not reach that far.  This smaller, beach view room cost P1800 and I knew I now had a problem.  Sure enough, the next day when the Mrs arrived she said no way and we were able to get a nice room on Subic at the Crown Peak for P1300.  Now, I have heard that the new rooms on the newly constructed second floor are much larger and I have been told that the remaining old rooms will be renovated as well.  The Blue Rock itself is very nice, with its swimming pool, bar, food and that great floating dock, but those old rooms SUCK!!  The TV’s were old and only a 12” screen but at least they had cable.  I figure that any hotel that has less than a 21” TV in their rooms are putting out a bad impression to the paying public. I will return to the Blue Rock when all room renovations have been completed  but will be more than willing to drop by and enjoy the company around the bar and beach area.

VISIT THE THI-HI

1950's style

There has to be a good reason to visit the Thi-Hi bar on Perimeter Road and I will let this picture provide the reason.  What the hell, I figured I needed a little cheesecake for the May column and this is a popular bar frequented by expats and tourists alike.  Now, the girl in the middle, if you want to see her, you have to hurry as she is now pregnant.  Yep, Offie is on her fourth kid and this time a smooth talking Englishman dropped one of those little sperms in the old hot box.  In true English tradition of doing the right thing, Offie told me that he is going to pay for the hospital and provide support as well, eh, as soon as the DNA test confirms that there is a bit of English in the little guy’s blood.  If the test turns up negative we may have to have a certain Kiwi tested next.

THE GRUESOME FOURSOME

Another year

Last year Larry gave a 21st birthday party for his son, Matt, at the Blue Nile Executive Club; one year later a few drinks at the Hang-Out would suffice.  Matt was in the company of that wild Maori, Dave White and Donna (aka Salty).  Salty, from New Zealand, runs the dive shop at the Blue Rock and you can tell that she has been in the sun for many years as well as doing a lot of diving in the salty oceans.  I told Salty my sad tale about my rooms at the Blue Rock and she is the one that told me all those rooms are scheduled for renovation.  But, if you are interested in diving I got the distinct impression that Salty could handle all your needs and that the Blue Rock is a popular gathering place for divers from all over the world.  Larry’s son Matt is a treasure hunter and does a lot of diving in the Zambales area.  It was fun to meet up with these folks and now I am wondering if I will be taking Matt’s birthday picture with his Dad every year.

MEET THE TOURIST

Nick Schranker, from Oregon, California was an interesting lad to talk to.  At 28 years old he already owns his own company and is doing so well that he already has plans for retirement.  This was his first trip to Angeles City and he was staying at the Orchid Inn.  It was nice to know that he reads this column every month and his favorite bar while here was the Rhapsody.  The lady he was with is a beauty by the name of Joy and naturally, she is employed at the Rhapsody Club.  Nick has a good taste in women and you can be sure this will not be his last trip to Angeles City.

I WOULD IF I COULD

Her name is Jaycel, 22 years old, works as a waitress at the Swagman and hails from Angeles City, a local gal.  She has a 10 month old baby girl but I would not hold that against her.  She is a very personable young lady and prefers men in the 32 to 40 year old age group.

TWO HAPPY GUYS

Happiness in Angeles City

These two lads were so much fun to talk to that I just had to include their picture this month.  I even talked my “I would if I could” lady into posing with Terry even though, for sure, he is past the age group she prefers.  Ken and Terry Smith live in Melbourne, Victoria Australia and you know, I forget which one is Ken and which one is Terry.  That is the problem with taking a picture more than three weeks earlier and then trying to use a memory that is fading with each passing year.  Anyway, Ken has been coming here every year since 1977 and knows what Angeles City has to offer.  Terry had been married for 38 years until his wife passed away four years ago.  Only now is he starting to get over the loneliness of the past four years and what better place to relax and enjoy one’s self than in Angeles City.  I told them about the monthly Knights of the Brown Ring (AH Club) and they told me they would plan their next visit to coincide with the first Saturday of the month.  I look forward to meeting them once again.

That is all the words I can come up with this month.  My body is weary and it is time for me to wonder off to bed.  Regrets to Dave and Spencer from the “Rising Sun” previously known as the “One Stop” for not writing you guys up this month.  I decided to save it for the June column at which time I think you will have completed the renovations now taking place.  I do want to feature the triplet sisters, two of whom are working for you.  Readers, next month, more details on Jenny and Anna, identical except that Anna has a slightly larger bra size.  The other sister is working in the province and that would be a good photo op if all three were together.  The Rising Sun will be open for business with GRO’s and dancers mid-May so I should be able to get a few good pictures.  Meanwhile, my son and his wife will be arriving on 1 May so I will be pretty busy playing host for nine days but I sure am looking forward to it.  Be back at you in June folks, but meanwhile, be kind to horses.
